Player Memo – 24th August 2024

Annual General Meeting – held 18th August 2024

The Club held the Annual General Meeting last Sunday, 18th August 2024 and with nothing major on the agenda the turnout was sufficient to achieve a quorum. Brian Howard (Treasurer) presented the 2023-24 Club’s financial statement as prepared by the Club’s Auditor, David Moffatt. We can confirm the Club remains in a healthy financial position.

The two retiring positions were that of Marilyn Bull (who had resigned in April 2024) and John Cox. Himanshu (Romi) Malhotra nominated for the vacancy and John Cox opted to retire if there was another nomination. No nominations received so John renominated.

Brian Howard, Chris Phung, Brett Edwards, and Stephy Ngu remain active.

Positions on the management committee to be decided at the first meeting of the new committee, in early September 2024.

The committee thanked Marilyn Bull (Life Member) for her long and diligent service to the Club and hope to see her playing social table tennis at the Club soon.

No Life Memberships awarded.

Annual Membership / Session Fees

As previously advised, there was no change to the annual membership fee of $10.00 (12 months, fiscal year) and $2.00 per session playing fees. Renewals were due from 1st July 2024.

If you have not renewed your membership and are attending, you now have the option of paying the $10.00 membership or paying the casual rate of $4.00 per session.

For those attending and have not paid the membership it is unfair on the financial members who have done the right thing. A list of current members is now available to Group Leaders and attendees will be checked to see if financial.

Please see the Group Leader to renew your membership and use the GREEN membership card.

Parking

Recently we are having issues with our members parking across driveways and over clearly marked yellow lines. Please be aware the Council is monitoring the parking area for the above as well as those who park in the Handicap Priority parks without a permit.

In fairness to the residents the area is always busy, whether from attendees at the Club or those using the park. So, if you are a Payneham member then do the right thing and park correctly, if not and you get caught the fine is $119.00.

We want our interaction with the residents to be respectful and considerate so when arriving or leaving the Club please do so with minimal noise. The Club is open 7 days and nights per week.

Renovations

We will resume the renovations around the Group Leaders desk shortly with new built-in shelving for players bags and personal items. Also, we are looking to buy new kitchen tables and chairs for the Club.

The training room will shortly be setup with air conditioning and access to the robotic training machine.

The last of the barriers will be repaired and we will look at the resealing of the stadium floor.

Group Leaders

Please remember the Group Leaders of each session are volunteers, where possible please assist them in making each session enjoyable. It is not their role to clean up after you.

If you are using the Club’s amenities then please wash, wipe, and put away whatever items you use.
