The Payneham Table Tennis Academy Inc. will hold a Special General Meeting in the Clubrooms
SGM Reminder – Sunday 14th April 2024 commencing at 10.30am
There will be a single motion for members to vote on.
Motion #1 to be voted is YES or NO:
‘It is proposed that Payneham Table Tennis Academy Inc. fully affiliate ALL social and competition players with Table Tennis South Australia / Table Tennis Australia.’
To vote you must be:
- A financial member for 2023-24
- Present at the AGM Our Constitution does not allow for proxy or postal voting)
- Over 18 years of age.
Prior to receiving a voting slip your voting eligibility will be checked.
Overview
- This is your Club and an especially prominent issue – reclusion after +60 years of participating in TTSA Winter Pennant for 2024 and the future without a change in affiliation status.
- ALL members are encouraged to attend the Special General Meeting and cast their vote.
- There will be a maximum of 30 minutes for Q & A and general discussion, representatives from the PTTA Inc. Management Committee will answer ALL questions in a transparent, honest, and complete manner, as is best known at that stage.
- The motion will then be put to a vote via secret ballot.
- Quorum for a Special General Meeting is 5% of the membership (aged above 18 years).
- No proxy vote or postal votes can be accepted.

- Welcome & Opening – Chairperson
- Confirmation of Attendees and their financial status and being over the age of 18 years.
- Confirmation of Quorum Numbers – 5% of Membership (aged of 18 years).
- Q&A and general discussion (maximum 30 minutes)
- Vote and Decision on the Motion via Secret Ballot
Note:
If a YES vote is achieved, by two-thirds majority of eligible voters then Under Section 21 (RULES), Point (f) – “If the rules are altered in accordance with rule 21 (d) the altered rule takes effect immediately.”
A YES vote would require the need for a new constitution, the plan would be to issue a draft prior to the 2024 AGM and then take it to a vote for adoption.
